TERMS & CONDITIONS
Prices quoted on this web site are for work carried out during normal working hours Monday to Saturday.
MAKING AN APPOINTMENT:
We make our appointments in one of six ways:
1. Morning – we arrive at some point between 8:30am and 12noon
2. Afternoon – we arrive at some point between 12noon and 5pm
3. First Job – we arrive at 8:30am sharp, extra charges apply. 4. See how you find us – telephone us between 8:30am and 5pm and see if we can come straight over. 5. Out of Hour Slots – we will arrive within a pre selected hour of the evening, starting with 6-7pm, then 7-8pm and so on. For example, if the client requested 6-7pm, the client will need to be at the property waiting from 6pm and our locksmith will arrive between 6pm and 7pm. For each hour later into the evening we charge an additional £12.80 in addition to your quoted price (pre-booked only). 6. Emergency – any time day or night , just call, emergency rates apply. The price you see on this web site is fully inclusive of parts and our labour to install.
NOT included is: VAT at the ruling rate. Any fees paid to park our vehicle (see Parking section below). The London congestion charge (if applicable, see below). Credit/debit card surcharges (see Payment section belo).. PAYMENT:
Payment is required upon completion of the work by cash or credit or debit card.
For card payments we operate mobile secure credit card terminals for the convenience of our customers, this facility is at a cost to us which we pass on to our customers, a 2.5% card fee will be added for credit or debit card payments. Our credit card terminal is secure just like in a shop. But just like in a shop the cardholder and the card must be present during the transaction.
We do not take payment by card over the phone as this is not secure.
We do not accept cheques.
PARKING:
Many of our prices are extremley reasonable. If fact a few are actually so cheap that we make hardly any profit at all. However, to qualify for the prices on this web site, it's vital that we have hassle-free parking. What do we mean by this? Well, we expect to be able to park our van directly outside your property LEGALLY. If there are no parking restrictions and we park very close, then all is well and good. If however you live in a controlled parking zone CPZ where only residents can park, then we will need a visitor's permit so we can park in a resident's bay. Some customers say "I don't drive, so I have no permits". This is of no use and makes no sence to us. If you live in a residents-only parking street then you should have visitor's permits, simple. If you do not we will have to find the nearest pay and display parking and we will have to add whatever we pay to park to your final invoice. If the nearest pay and display bay we find is more that a very short walk away from your door, we will have to charge and additional £9 which is a "parking not hassle-free" charge. Sorry, but we have to do it. Likewise, if we arrive at you address and have to drive round and round looking for a space, the £9 fee will be added. LONDON CONGESTION CHARGE:
If your property is in the charging zone then it will be added to your invoice, it's currently £10. If we have to enter the charging zone from our previous job to reach you, even if we started outside the charging zone and you are not actually in the zone, then it will be added to your invoice. (This is quite rare but it does happen). CANCELLATION
Once a job is booked a cancellation charge will be applicable should the customer cancel the job. Because we allocate an engineer’s time to your job as soon as you make your booking, our cancellation charges are effectively immediately, there is no grace period. If you reschedule the job rather than simply cancel (with at least 24 hours notice) we will waive the cancellation charge. If we have made additional keys or ordered locks especially for you, then the cost of these will be added to the standard cancellation charge. Our standard cancellation fee is £49 + vat – this is if the job is cancelled before our engineer arrives. If however, the job is cancelled after our engineer arrives, the fee rises to £69 + vat.
